Asteroid: Mission Extreme takes audiences on an epic journey to discover how asteroids are both a danger and an opportunity. The danger lies in the possibility of a cataclysmic collision with Earth; the opportunity is the fascinating idea that asteroids could be stepping stones to other worlds – veritable way stations in space – enabling us to cross the Solar System.

Sky-Skan and National Geographic, the award-winning teams that brought you To Space & Back and Wildest Weather in the Solar System, collaborated in partnership with Lockheed Martin to bring audiences this new, original production. Like To Space & Back, Asteroid: Mission Extreme is produced in 8k, 3D, 60fps, a benchmark for fulldome shows in terms of image capture and rendering, which enhances the immersive experience in all resolution formats.
Asteroid: Mission Extreme is suitable general audiences and school groups. Developed by National Geographic, corresponding education materials geared to grades 4-12 are available to support educators and film patrons.
